This painting began as a way to express my emotions freely and playfully. The first layer—a blend of blues, purples, and blacks—was painted on the same day I shared my story of sexual assault. Each layer that followed became an extension of exploration and rediscovery, allowing me to feel like myself again without erasing the experiences beneath.

It’s titled 'Restroom Break' because it reminded me of the restroom stalls I’ve encountered at bars as an adult, as well as the stalls in school, a telling of time passed.
